I got blue sparkle, red sparkle, silver sparkle, gold sparkle....
Orly Fowl Play was part of their Bird's of a Feather collection last autumn/winter. Unfortunately it was limited edition, but that is not to say it can't be found in local salons, spas and of course good old www.ebay.co.uk (link to seller here)
Night time shot- no flash. This is closer to the true colour.
(Slight apology here, I always apply polish and then take a photo before I clean up the application. I don't mean to- I just get a bit over enthusiastic!)
It is a gorgeous dark amethyst colour with added sparkle. It seems to have blue and silver glitter in, as well as flakes of what looks like gold leaf. This gives it a grown up, subtle shimmer and opal like shine in places. It retails for £4.95 which is really good for an unusual, quality polish.
This see-through coat could be layered over another colour for a different look.
As you can see, you need two coats to get a good strong colour. I used Rimmel 5 in 1 Nail Treat (currently on 3 for 2 at Boots) as my base and top coat. It's a great space saving travel product!
Obligatory blurry glitter shot!
I have used Orly polishes for a while (including their cute mini manis (older posts here)) and find the range of colours and finishes quite good. I also have found with a good base/top coat the polish will last chip free for at least a week. The best part- Orly polishes are free from the big deadly 3 ingredients: DBP, Formaldehyde and Toluene. Do you own any Orly polishes? What is the most unusual glitter/gold leave polish you own? Do you use a base/top coat- if so which one?
Disclaimer: I was given these as a gift by Orly, with no obligation to review. I am including this polish on my blog because I like it! These are my own words!
